Meet the Founder

Cordell Jeter, President and Founder of EcoRover Chairs

In 1988, during my sophomore year of college on a football scholarship, I was a passenger in the backseat of a car that rolled down the side of a mountain. I found myself under the car with a shattered spine, leaving me paralyzed from the waist down. This created a new life for me as a T-12 Paraplegic.

Always being optimistic, even though hospitalization and rehabilitation, I continued to work, look forward, and set new goals. In the years to come I placed fourth in the wheelchair division of the Marine Corp Marathon, started Fairfax County’s Kids Wheelchair Sports Program, and won a bronze medal in the 1992 Barcelona Paralympics. On the professional side, I owned a durable medical equipment (DME) company for over 12 years with a VISN-5 government contract with the Department Veterans Affairs and later owned a dealer for track chair manufacturers, both which led to me opening EcoRover Chairs.

It is now my focus to advance track chair technology and make it available at an affordable cost to the user. EcoRover Chairs are intuitive, safe and allow users to transverse practically any type of terrain easy and fun. And that’s what life is about.
