A Life-Changing Moment
Life can change direction when least expected. In 1988, our owner, then a college sophomore on a football scholarship, faced a sudden shift. A car accident rolled their vehicle down a mountainside, resulting in a shattered spine and a diagnosis as a T-12 paraplegic.
Built on Resilience, Driven by Purpose
Turning Challenges Into Triumphs
What seemed like an ending became a new beginning. During hospitalization and rehab, optimism became more than an attitude—it was a guide. Where others saw limits, our owner saw opportunity. This journey led to remarkable achievements: placing fourth in the Marine Corps Marathon wheelchair division, founding Fairfax County’s Kids Wheelchair Sports Program, and winning Gold and Bronze medals at the 1992 Barcelona Paralympics.
Building a Purpose-Driven Career
Our owner’s passion for mobility deepened over 12 years running a durable medical equipment company, serving veterans through a VISN-5 contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Later, as a track chair dealer, they witnessed both the potential and the urgent need for innovation in mobility solutions.
