Our Story

Life has a way of changing our path when we least expect it. In 1988, as a college sophomore living the dream on a football scholarship, one car ride changed everything. When our vehicle rolled down a mountainside, I found myself pinned underneath, facing a reality I never imagined - a shattered spine and life as a T-12 Paraplegic.

But endings often become beginnings.

Through hospitalization and rehabilitation, I discovered that optimism isn't just an attitude - it's a compass. While others saw limitations, I saw possibilities. This new chapter led me to achievements I never dreamed of: placing fourth in the Marine Corp Marathon's wheelchair division, founding Fairfax County's Kids Wheelchair Sports Program, and proudly representing my country at the 1992 Barcelona Paralympics, bringing home Gold and Bronze medals.

My journey in the mobility industry began with purpose. For over 12 years, I owned a durable medical equipment (DME) company, serving our veterans through a VISN-5 government contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Later, as a track chair dealer, I saw both the incredible potential and the pressing need for innovation in this field.

This experience sparked the creation of ECOROVER Chairs. Today, our mission is clear: to advance track chair technology while making freedom more accessible and affordable. We believe that adventure shouldn't be a luxury, and mobility shouldn't have boundaries.

ECOROVER Chairs represent more than mobility - they're about rediscovering joy, embracing independence, and making every terrain an opportunity for adventure. Because at the end of the day, that's what life is truly about.

The only disability in life is a bad attitude.
