Track Chair Disc Golf in Lake Wales, FL

Removing the Barriers, Lake Aurora Christian Camp, and EcoRover Chairs came together to host a track chair disc golf event on Sunday, February 19, in Lake Wales, FL.  Seven teams played demonstrating a format that had one disc golfer in an EcoRover Chair and a partner that walked the holes.  The event nicely showcased the new sport that allows persons with limitations in mobility to enjoy a day at a disc golf course.

Last year Eddie Hall and Thomas Griffin teed off the sport when Eddie took the first shot on June 21, 2022, in Edward Medard Park, a Hillsborough County Park located in Plant City, FL.  Eddie made that first shot and with Thomas they formed the Track Chair Disc Golf Association www.trackdga.org  See our blog dated June 21, 2022.

Now EcoRover Chairs is pleased to collaborate great track chair golf events like the Peacemaker Walk & Roll Charity Disc Golf Scramble held by Removing the Barriers and organized by their director Bill Redmon.  The event was a big success, and the first of its kind that brought together so many teams to play.  Removing the Barriers has acquired four EcoRover Chairs through grants and have plans for many great adaptive recreational events in central Florida using the EcoRover Chairs.  Congratulations to Bill Redmon on a great event and thank you very much for your efforts that serve people with limitations in mobility.
